       Explorer Post 344

The Bristol Fire Rescue Explorer Post 344 serves as a fire service career awareness program for young adults who resided within the boundaries of Sullivan County. The program is open to membership to young men and women between the ages of 15 years and 19 years, or until successful completion of high school. Post 344 is part of Learning for Life's education resource program through the Boy Scouts of America.  In addition to learning about the Fire Service, the Explorer program's key goal is to provide the young adult with a sense of responsibility to their neighborhood.

Bristol Fire Rescue designates personnel   from each shift to serve as advisors to the post, and to assist with Explorer training.  Those who meet the requisites and who are looking for a challenge, interested in learning new skills, enjoy teamwork, fun and excitement; and, are interested in learning about a career in the fire service, then becoming a Bristol Fire Rescue Explorer may be for you.

To succeed as an Explorer, a young man or woman must be willing to study, work hard, pay attention, maintain a perfect or nearly perfect attendance record, and maintain a professional appearance, including a professional-looking uniform. Those interested in joining the Bristol Fire Rescue Explorer Post should contact Assistant Fire Chief Jack Spurgeon, Jr. at jspurgeon@bristoltn.org. While Explorer Post 344 is currently inactive and applications are not being accepted at this time, the Post may be reactivated in the future.
