The Record Records' keeping is an inherent function of law enforcement. As such, records keeping is managed with respect to meeting the needs of the City, the Police Department, and the citizens of Bristol. Records provide a basic source of information to further investigative needs and direct enforcement activities, therefore, the records keeping function is integral to the overall function of the Police Department. The Records Division is responsible for report data entry, report review, report control, records maintenance, records retrieval, and State reporting. All incident, offense, and accident reports are processed within the Records Division. Also, our staff processes all City traffic and parking citations and is responsible for the scheduling of Defensive Driving training for the Department. This Division is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are closed on weekends and holidays. Accident reports are available on-line at www.Tracview.com. Individual incident, offense and accident report copies may be picked up at the Records Division during normal business hours free of charge. If multiple reports or copies are required, a cost estimate will be provided before the work is completed. Report copies should be available the next business day, in most cases. Accidents involving personal injury or estimated damage of $400 or greater requires an Owner/Driver Responsibility Form be sent to Nashville. A copy of this report is available at the link below. You may contact the Records Division by calling 423-989-5539 or 423-989-5289 or: Virginia Smelser, Manager
