A seven-member (7) board appointed by Council for six-year (6) year terms.  Meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month at 5:00 PM in the City Hall Annex.  The Industrial Development Board is a public corporation established pursuant to TCA 7-53-101 et seq.  All members are required to be city residents at time of appointment and maintain city residency during the entire term of office. 

A City Council member shall be appointed by such to serve as an informal liaison to this board. 

The Industrial Development Board has authority to authorize industrial development bonds under stat and federal statute and has other enumerated powers. 

The Community Development Department will act as coordinating/support staff for the Industrial Development Board. 

The City Attorney will assist on legal issues.
