Bristol Fire Rescue Mission Statement….
Message from Fire Chief Bob Barnes Bristol Fire Rescue is a progressive, professional, highly-trained group of 57 dedicated firefighters, serving a community of approximately 25,000 residents, and providing emergency services to an area of about 32 square miles. Bristol is home to Bristol Motor Speedway, the "Worlds Fastest Half Mile", hosting NASCAR events to approximately 200,000 race fans twice a year. While extremely challenging, our firefighters continually provide the best of services to Bristol Motor Speedway and NASCAR fans without sacrificing protection to the rest of our city. The citizens and visitors of Bristol are served by two Advance Life Support Ambulances, along with one 2000gpm pumper, two 1500gpm pumpers, one 100' aerial platform, and one 55' Skyboom, operating from four fire stations. We are fortunate to have over 15 of our firefighters trained to the level of Paramedic, and we are one hundred per cent certified to the Emergency Medical Technician level. Our Insurance Services Office (ISO) Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating is Class 3, and we continually monitor our department's compliance with ISO criteria. Our department is proactive with fire prevention and fire safety education as we strive to enhance the quality of life enjoyed by our residents. Bristol Fire Rescue proudly serves the citizens of Bristol, responding to over 4500 calls per year; and, we wholeheartedly enjoy the opportunity and challenge of representing Bristol, Bristol's visitors, and the fire service profession. Finally, I extend a warm invitation to anyone wishing to visit our department and learn first hand about our equipment, our dedication, our training, and our commitment to service.
