September 22, 2018 - Rhythm and Roots Reunion 5K Run

In addition to the static street closures listed above for the Rhythm and Roots Reunion festival, the following streets will be closed for the 5K run on Saturday, September 22, 2018.

In addition to the static street closures listed above for the Rhythm and Roots Reunion festival, the following streets will be closed for the 5K run on Saturday, September 22, 2018.

Closing at 5:30 a.m. for the 5K run is the southbound right lane of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard from Buchanan Street to Edmond Street; the southbound right lane of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard from Shelby Street to Anderson Street; the southbound right lane of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard from Locust Street/Alabama Street to Melrose Street; both southbound lanes of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard from Anderson Street to Locust Street/Alabama Street; and the eastbound right lane of Anderson Street from Volunteer Parkway to 6th Street. Just as the 5K begins at 8:00 a.m., both southbound lanes of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard will be closed from West Mary Street to Melrose Street and Locust Street will be closed between Liberty Alley and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. These closures will remain in place until the 5K run is over, which should be by approximately 9:45 a.m.

Motorists are also cautioned to be on the lookout for runners on lower-volume streets that are not closed to traffic, including: Melrose Street from Volunteer Parkway to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard; 6th Street from Anderson Street to Shelby Street; Moore Street from Winston Alley to Edmond Street; and Edmond Street from Moore Street to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The Wes Davis Greenway will also be utilized for this event.
