Monday, January 20, 2020 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) - Martin Luther King, Jr. Pedestrian Commemorative Event Celebration. Unlike 2018 and 2019, this pedestrian event will not be traveling along Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in 2020; instead, it will be traveling from the Paramount Center for the Arts to the Trainstation along State Street and thus crossing Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

To accommodate this event, State Street from 6th Street/Moore Street to 3rd Street (just east of the railroad crossing) will be closed from approximately 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. Motorists will not be able to cross or access State Street at Lee Street, nor at Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, while this closure is in place. There will be no vehicular access to 5th Street from State Street during this time. On-street parking will be restricted in the 500 block of State Street from 11:00 a.m. to approximately 2:00 p.m. Pedestrian access will not be impacted.
