In response to the rapid economic growth and development in the area, the City of Bristol, Tennessee is hosting a Hiring Expo on May 19th in order to help local employers connect with job-seekers throughout the region to fill available positions. Exhibit space is being offered to any Bristol, Tennessee employers who wish to participate, and there is absolutely no cost for employers or potential applicants to attend.
Participating employers will be provided with an 8-foot table with tablecloth, two chairs, Wi-Fi, and electricity if needed. Additionally, unlike many similar events, private interview rooms will be available for employers to conduct one-on-one conversations with applicants they feel may be suited to fill their positions. On-site drug screening will also be available for employers who require it as part of their hiring process. These services are being offered to facilitate and encourage employers to extend on-the-spot offers to qualified candidates when possible.
“This is a very unique event where we are inviting employers from a wide spectrum of businesses and industries to come together and showcase their employment opportunities to our local job market,” said Tom Anderson, Economic Development Director for the City of Bristol, Tennessee. “Whether an organization has openings for 5 or 500, this is an opportunity that we encourage them to take full advantage of.” The Hiring Expo is being sponsored by the Bristol, Tennessee Industrial Development Board.
The event will take place on Thursday, May 19th, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM at the Bristol Motor Speedway South Entrance (formerly Peerless Woodworking). Registration for the Hiring Expo is open to employers located in Bristol, Tennessee seeking to fill full-time, part-time, temporary, and seasonal positions.
