City of Bristol officials along with Sullivan NETWORKS welcomed Contura Energy to its new downtown location. The recently formed Contura Energy has confirmed their move to offices located at 340 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Bristol, Tennessee. Contura will operate in central and northern Appalachia as well as the Powder River Basin. The company will employ more than 2,200 people throughout operations, including almost 90 employees in the Bristol office.
“Our goal is to make sure that businesses find Bristol hospitable and supportive of their efforts to grow their companies,” said Mayor Chad Keen. He continued, “We recognize the fact that Contura Energy could have chosen any location in the world to house their central office; we are delighted that they chose Bristol.”
Bristol Mayor Chad Keen, City Manager Bill Sorah, Economic Development Director Tom Anderson, and representatives of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce and Bristol Tennessee Essential Services met with Contura officials to pledge the full support of local government and other supporting organizations. “Contura’s presence in our community will provide a more robust downtown. It is a distinct privilege to welcome them to Bristol,” said Tom Anderson.
"We are very appreciative of the Contura team's decision to locate its corporate offices in Bristol," NETWORKS Sullivan Partnership CEO Clay Walker said. "They found a great property in one of the most business friendly cities in the most business friendly state in the country. I can't thank Michael Green of Green Commercial Realty enough. He was our point of contact and he trusted us as we did him, which made this deal from our perspective seamless."
