[ARCHIVED] 05/07/18 Interview Workshop to help local job-seekers prep for success

On Wednesday, May 9th, the City of Bristol, Tennessee, in partnership with the Northeast Tennessee Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, will host an Interview Workshop.

At the workshop, area job-seekers will have the opportunity to gain valuable insight from local HR professionals on how to stand out in the job applicant pool and prepare for future interviews. Topics of discussion will include preparing a résumé, tips for appropriate dress for various types of interviews, the best ways to respond to common interview questions, and questions that job-seekers should be prepared to ask of prospective employers.

“Our local job market is more competitive than ever, and paying attention to small details can make the difference between who gets the job offer and who does not,” said Mary Lee Williams, Director of Administration for the City of Bristol, Tennessee and Past President of the Northeast TN Chapter of SHRM. She added, “This workshop allows participants to learn from professionals who make these types of hiring decisions day in and day out, and who really know what local employers are looking for. You simply cannot ask for a better resource than that.”

The Interview Workshop will take place on Wednesday, May 9th at 2:00 PM in the Slater Center Auditorium at 325 McDowell Street in Bristol, TN. There is no cost to attend, and no registration is required. The workshop is being conducted in preparation for the upcoming Bristol Hiring Expo on May 24th, where workshop participants will have the opportunity to put their newly acquired skills to the test with dozens of area employers.
