05/15/18 City to share proposed budget during “Bristol Exchange” meetings

The City of Bristol is seeking community feedback as it introduces the listening posts called “Bristol Exchange.”  Two meetings will be hosted by the City Manager and senior staff.  The first event is set for Tuesday, May 22 at the Slater Center located on 325 McDowell and will begin at 6:00 P.M.  The second meeting will be hosted in the Frank Winston Auditorium on Tuesday, May 29 at the Tennessee High School campus located on Edgemont Avenue.  It too will begin at 6:00 P.M. From 6:00-6:30 P.M. the community will have an opportunity to meet and visit with senior staff while enjoying light refreshments.  The main budget presentation will immediately follow.

The city is encouraging Bristol residents to give their feedback on the topic of the upcoming city budget for fiscal year 2018-19.  A copy of the proposed budget is now available on the City’s website at www.bristoltn.org, click on the Proposed Budget tab to the left of the main page or a hard copy will be made available at the City Manager’s office located on the second floor of City Hall at 801 Anderson Street.

“Please join us for the Bristol Exchange meetings.  We hope all our neighbors will come share their thoughts on the proposed budget or any subject that may be important to them,” said Bill Sorah, City Manager. “Many department representatives who have daily interaction with the community will be present to answer questions, share information on current projects, or listen to suggestions you may have.”

Participants are asked to please follow signage located on each property to the exact location/entrance to the meeting.

For a complete list of meeting locations, addresses, etc., please check the City’s website at www.bristoltn.org.

Bristol Exchange is a continuing series of community meetings where topics of interest will be presented to neighborhoods for their input in an interactive and positive way. Community voices are a vital role in the decision making process.
