The City of Bristol Tennessee is taking steps to recognize its historic character. The objective of this new initiative is to highlight the beautiful historic properties of the City. The Bristol Tennessee Community Development Department created a Historic Preservation Award program in this effort. The annual awards program will identify both residential and commercial properties located within the city’s three National Register Districts - Downtown District, Fairmount District, and the Holston Avenue District. In addition to the three districts, one city-wide award will be issued to a historic property located anywhere within the city limits.
It is easy and free to submit a nomination, however, time is running out. The deadline for entry is July 11, 2018. Properties may be self-nominated or made by anyone with an appreciation for the hard work involved in a preservation project. For more details, and to get a copy of the nomination form, please visit www.bristoltn.org or contact Cherith Marshall with the Community Development Department at 423-989-5518 or [email protected].
