[ARCHIVED] 12-11-18 Public Services Division to retrace Monday and Tuesday garbage routes on Wednesday

Be vigilant for black ice for the next couple of mornings.  With the warmer temperatures allowing snow to melt during the day then dropping to the teens during overnight hours, it is the perfect recipe for black ice.

Although, the Division of Public Services did operate on their normal schedules Monday and Tuesday, we realize with the conditions of slow snow melt, creating in some cases black ice, it may have been difficult to take your garbage containers to the curb.  Public Services will return to those routes on Wednesday to pick up containers that may have been missed due to weather conditions.  If your household was one of those that couldn’t get to the curb on Monday or Tuesday and you have the capacity to wait until next week’s scheduled run that would make our operations more efficient on Wednesday.  However, if you need your garbage receptacle picked up on Wednesday, please give us a call to ensure we stop by your house.  Please call our dispatch at 423-989-5582.

We sincerely appreciate your patience.  Our crews work hard to get our roadways and downtown sidewalks cleared.
