Officials with the City of Bristol, Tennessee released the all-new 2018 Annual Year End Report video during the City Council meeting Tuesday night. The video takes a look at the accomplishments Bristol, Tennessee saw during 2018.
City achievements featured in the video include the accomplishments of the Bristol, Tennessee Police Department and Bristol Fire Department, twelve miles of road resurfacing, 2,600 feet of sidewalks added in the Fairmount area, the awarding of a $25,000 grant to fund a new Bark Park, and the initiation of the Downtown Study Plan. Other achievements include the replacement of the trees on State Street, the issuance of 289 residential permits, more than $7 million in construction permits, and the rise of commercial construction to nearly $20 million, to name a few.
The video highlights area events like the ones held at Bristol Motor Speedway and Bristol Dragway, the Sounds of Summer Concert Series, and Rhythm and Roots. The video also captures the number of people who went to events at Paramount Bristol and The Birthplace of Country Music.
“The City wanted to show our residents what has been accomplished and achieved together in 2018,” said Terrie Talbert, Director of Community Relations for the City of Bristol, Tennessee. “Our goal with this video was to create this great visual reference while also making it easier for our citizens to see results. There is no better way to showcase accomplishments than a visual piece. Everyone can observe for themselves what has been happening all over Bristol.”
