The City of Bristol, Tennessee released an update for the popular “Spread the Glove” program. Since spring is almost here, winter items are no longer needed. The program will start again in the fall when the weather, once again, turns cold.
The amount of public interest in this event is what makes the program a tremendous success. Donations came from people across the City. Over 500 items including gloves, hats, scarves, and coats were contributed this year.
Though the call for donations has ended, there were enough items donated to still provide warmth should cold weather return.
“The ‘Spread the Glove’ program has become a favorite for citizens across Bristol,” said Terrie Talbert, Director of Community Relations. “From its creation, the public has shown great interest and support. Seeing all the donations always puts a smile on your face. It truly reflects how Bristol takes care of others less fortunate”.
