[ARCHIVED] 3-29-19 City of Bristol announces #tuesdayinthepark initiative

The City of Bristol, Tennessee is debuting a new initiative titled #tuesdayinthepark. The focus is to highlight the 27 parks that are located within City limits and the benefits that each park offers throughout the year.

Each Tuesday, starting April 2, the City of Bristol will highlight one park on its social media platforms. The post will include the history, location, and fun that can be found in each park. The public is encouraged to participate by taking a photo in the featured park of the week. Post the picture online by tagging the City of Bristol, Tennessee and using the hashtag #tuesdayinthepark on Facebook or Instagram. The City of Bristol will randomly choose a post that was taken in the corresponding park to win a #tuesdayinthepark shirt.

With so many parks in Bristol, each park possesses its own unique characteristics. Some parks are family focused with playgrounds, amphitheaters, and hiking trails; while other parks concentrate on providing a place of peaceful beauty and relaxation. There is something that will appeal to everyone in Bristol’s parks.

“We are excited to bring this social media initiative to Bristol,” said Terrie Talbert, Director of Community Relations. “Bristol has 27 parks that are just waiting for visitors to enjoy. With #tuesdayinthepark, we hope to encourage more people to get out and see for themselves what each park has to offer”.
