Community members are encouraged to “Dump the Pump” and ride the Bristol Tennessee Transit for free on Thursday, Oct. 3.

The annual celebration is designed to spotlight public transportation as both a convenient and cost-effective travel method. All rides aboard the Bristol Tennessee Transit will be free that day and, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., an appreciation event will be held at Downtown Center featuring hotdogs and hamburgers, door prizes, and live music by Thomas Taylor.

The Bristol Tennessee Transit offers fixed-route service from 6:15 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The cost is 60 cents for adults, but discounts are available for seniors and those with disabilities. Children under 6 ride for free.

For additional information about Bristol Tennessee Transit please contact Public Services Manager Wes Ritchie at (423) 989-5500, ext. 2174, or view the Bristol Tennessee Transit route map at www.bristoltn.org/transitmap.
