Buddy Jones was a long-time tennis enthusiast who was instrumental in the formation of the Bristol Junior Tennis Tournament and the construction of Bristol’s first indoor tennis center. He represented both Tennessee and Virginia at various times in tennis competitions of the Senior Olympics and, upon his retirement in 1970, played tennis almost every day. The Buddy Jones Tennis Tournament was established by his children last year to honor their late father.
