The Bristol, Tennessee Police Department is actively recruiting applicants for entry-level positions and is encouraging those interested to apply by Dec. 31 in order to be eligible for the next round of testing.
Major Matt Austin said those who complete the online application will receive a letter with details about the exam process, which will be given Feb. 1 at Anderson Elementary School, and includes both a written test and a physical abilities test. Those who successfully complete those exams will advance through the process, he said, to subsequent interviews, a physical and psychological exam, and a background check.
Those offered positions will be eligible to attend the Police Training Academy in June, he said.
Austin said the Bristol, Tennessee department is a good career choice because the city offers competitive wages and benefits, including retirement through the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System and the opportunity for an incentive bonus of up to $2,000. Additionally, the City’s police officers receive a great deal of community support, he said.
Applications received after the Dec. 31 deadline will be held until the next testing cycle.
