Imminent Lane Closures Announced for Volunteer Parkway and Broad Street/Anderson Street Intersection
Please be advised by the City of Bristol, Tennessee, that lane closures will occur at and near the intersection of Volunteer Parkway and Broad Street/Anderson Street in order for the intersection to be modified in support of the continued Cootie Brown’s construction.
In the upcoming days, the shoulder of Volunteer Parkway next to Cootie Brown’s and the right-turn lane onto Broad Street from Volunteer Parkway will be closed. Additionally, the Broad Street right lane next to Cootie Brown’s between Volunteer Parkway and 10th Street will be closed. This work will result in a third lane being added to Broad Street for its upcoming conversion to a two-lane roadway between Volunteer Parkway and 10th Street.
Motorists are advised that as part of this work, the Anderson Street lane that allows a left turn onto Volunteer Parkway and a through movement onto Broad Street will be converted to a left-turn-only lane onto Volunteer Parkway.
There will also be periodic lane closures on Anderson Street near the Volunteer Parkway intersection in order for traffic signal modification work to take place.
Motorists can expect to encounter these lane closures during daylight hours until the end of November 2014, weather permitting.
