Cody Sawyers and Joe Wyatt of the City’s Division of Solid Waste were presented with the Bristol First Award on Tuesday, July 7, for their excellent service to the public.
While on duty one day, the two met a 15-year-old with a keen interest in how the trash truck operates and invited him to take a closer look. They They returned the following day with a t-shirt and other City souvenirs for this inquisitive youngster. The young man’s father nominated the two City employees for the award, noting "It was an act of kindness and consideration far beyond their ordinary duties, and Cody and Joe exemplify the spirit of service, consideration, and generosity that make Bristol a great place to live."
