Pollinator Web

Farris Lamie won the first-place award in the youth division of the 2021 Wildlife Weekend Photo Contest for a photo titled “Pollinator,” while the top prize in the adult division was awarded to Nancy Vernon for a picture called “Early Morning Sunrays.”

The annual contest is sponsored by Friends of Steele Creek Nature Center and Park and each year challenges amateur photographers to capture the natural aspects of Steele Creek Park through a camera lens.  Winners were selected by a panel of judges that included park employees plus Chris Duncan of Chris Duncan Photography and Earl Neikirk of Neikirk Image Photography.

Second place, third place, and honorable mention awards in the youth category were all presented to Sreekar Mutnuri. In the adult division, the second-place award was presented to Nancy Vernon and Lewis Tester took home the third-place award. Both also collected honorable mention awards.
