[ARCHIVED] Bristol TN Parks & Rec to host pickleball, basketball leagues

Registration is now underway for a six-week Pickleball Winter Warm Up and an Adult 5-on-5 Basketball league that will be sponsored by the Bristol, Tennessee Department of Parks & Recreation in January.

The Pickleball Winter Warm Up will begin Monday, Jan. 10, and continue each Monday and Wednesday evening through Feb. 16. All games in this doubles-only program will be played between 6 and 9 p.m. at the Slater Community Center. Players of all ages may register individually at bristoltn.recdesk.com and should list a doubles partner on the registration form. Games will be scheduled by the Department of Parks & Recreation and each team will play at least 12 matches. The $15 registration fee includes a t-shirt.

Part of the Social Sports League, the Adult 5-on-5 Basketball program will include co-ed teams, teams of players who are 40 or older, and an open league. Players must be at least 16 years of age and at least two female players must be on the court at all times during co-ed play.  All basketball games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday nights between 6 and 9 p.m., beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Slater Community Center. Team members must register individually at bristoltn.recdesk.com. The $15 registration fee includes a team t-shirt. Games are part of a recreational league and will be self-officiated.
