[ARCHIVED] Farmer’s Market to begin Wednesday hours on July 5

web farmers market

The State Street Farmer’s Market will expand its operating hours next week to provide additional shopping opportunities as the most anticipated crops of summer begin pouring in.

Beginning July 5, the market will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. each Wednesday through the end of September and from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday through the end of October. All markets are held at Downtown Center, 810 State Street

The State Street Farmer’s Market provides an opportunity for local farmers to showcase fresh produce and locally produced meats, while also allowing community members to benefit from the freshest products available. The market began operation in 1999 and continues to offer a wide variety of crops in season, plus fresh baked goods and handmade crafts. Many vendors accept SNAP/EBT benefits for eligible purchases and participate in the SNAP Double Up East Tennessee program provided through the Appalachian Resource Conservation & Development Council.
