[ARCHIVED] Public invited to enjoy 'Coffee with the Chief'

WEB Chief

The Bristol Tennessee Police Department has partnered with McDonald’s at 1102 Volunteer Parkway to host a drop-by event for members of the public to meet BTPD Chief Matt Austin, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversations in a casual setting.

“Coffee with the Chief” will be held Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 9 to 10 a.m. It is the first of several similar sessions that will be held quarterly at McDonald’s restaurants throughout Bristol, Tennessee. Those who attend may enter to win a Bristol gift basket.

“We don’t have an agenda for these sessions or a list of topics to discuss,” Chief Austin explained. “Instead, we’ve set this time aside to have conversations with community members about issues that are important to them. I’m confident these discussions will allow us to build stronger relationships between the public and the police that will make a positive impact on our community.”

For the convenience of the public, sessions will rotate to a different McDonald’s restaurant each quarter. The next session is tentatively planned for Wednesday, Oct. 4. For additional information, please contact Lt. Greg Brown of the BTPD’s Division of Community Policing at (423) 989-3153 or [email protected].
